And.....we're back!!!

Hi everyone! Yes, we realize it's been nearly 6 months! Sorry that we're out of touch with everyone. Life is a lot busier than we would like for it to be and sitting down at the computer is just not always in the schedule. Everyone is doing well here. Kenlyn and Landon have been pretty healthy. Nothing other than slight colds this winter. BJ and I were lucky enough to battle the stomach flu early this year. Let me tell ya, that is a whole load of fun with an infant and a toddler to keep up with also! BJ has kept busy with work and it sounds like his company continues to have projects lined up for the next several months. I reopened daycare services in February and have had the same families return as I had prior to Landon having been born. Two of my families are also expecting so I will have to lose one family due to my licensing capacity and will gain another infant at the end of the summer from the second family. Kenlyn and Landon continue to just grow and grow! Landon is almost 20 pounds and will be 6 months old in two weeks. He's a long and stocky little fella. Kenlyn his stretching up and is just at 3 ft tall now. She's been loving the Spring weather and loves getting outside to play. She just got a soccer ball and loves to kick it around. She's been a super big sister and a really big helper to me. She loves Landon and really gets a kick out of making him laugh. He loves to watch her and as soon as he hears her voice he's craning his head around to try and see her. Kenlyn got a microphone for Christmas and loves to sing. She's quite the little singer these days. If you try singing with her she quickly says "No! Me do it!" and would rather you be her audience. She's learned her alphabet and suprised me one day by identifying the six letters that were on my shirt. We practice learning the letters and numbers but I didn't realize until then how much she was actually remembering already! WooHoo! Now, if we could just master the potty. She was doing super before Landon was born but now has seemed to lose interest in going on the potty. We're starting a new reinforcement system this weekend so, we'll see how that goes. Landon gave us a little bit of a scare recently when his little noggin started showing some of the same signs that Kenlyn's had when she was diagnosed with craniosynostosis. His pediatrician referred him to the same craniofacial surgeon that Kenlyn saw. Landon underwent a CT scan and the specialist determined that his sutures in his skull were still open and that he would not need surgery. Big relief! Landon was, however, diagnosed with plagiocephaly (flattening) on the back of his skull and the specialist recommended a craniocap, like the fancy cap that Kenlyn got to wear after her surgery. So, Landon was fitted for his cool cap last week and he will start wearing that next week. He's such a happy little guy. Smiles and smiles. Laughs a lot and really only fusses when he's hungry, tired, or needs to have his diaper changed. Pretty easy compared to Kenlyn when she was an infant and fussed so much from her head hurting.
